Inside is everything, from icons to posters, the flyers, the many private photos now made public. The battles, humor, holidays: all told through images captured by the then militants and sympathizers, making, however, fully honor the route taken by many young people in the late seventies until the early nineties. Of course there is all in the decade of the Eighties: The Hobbit Fields and massive student demonstrations, to reach to those against the Mafia before and after the massacres of the '92 season. And then the discussions, those who explain what was behind every single battle of ideas. Particularly popular sections on the old city's Amarcord, basements often that linked the fate of the militants to those of Monza Palermo, Taranto, Bologna, and even some Roman sections. Do not miss the discussion more clear political dimension, and so there are those who remember what happened with particular enthusiasm to Neptune in 1989, when the Youth Front was the national news for the famous show "Gandhi" of protest against George Bush senior. The memories, however, are almost endless, ranging from the "first book" that was suggested - where to lord it are the various Julius Evola, Yukio Mishima, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, Ernst Jünger, but also must the period, as the wise collective work of many hands in 1989 Roots and project (edited by Anna Newfoundland and Isabella Rauti and written by Gianni Alemanno, Umberto Croppi, Peppe Nanni, Andrea Augello, Fabio Granata and so many leaders or former leaders of the Front - the so-called " baptism of fire ", ie the first leaflets, posters or the first, possibly at night. Which, in turn, are emblematic of its time: there are those in favor of free Palestine, as well as those against ' Soviet invasion of Afghanistan or in favor of Croatia, nor, to remain in areas of international crimes against the Polish dictatorship of General Jaruzelski. It is very strong, however, the presence references to the political struggle against the Mafia, especially in the season of horse slaughter, that of spring and summer of 1992. Coping dominated the scene, the student organization of FDG which borrows its symbol, the labyrinth Celtic, from the Greek by Alain de Benoist & Co.
Coping is distinguished by a spirit of aversion against Cosa Nostra: the famous events, well-represented in the photos, with the banner below the "Better a day than a hundred as Ciancimino Borsellino," written, then, would also feature some T-shirts. The name of Paolo Borsellino often arises, not surprisingly. The sentence of the group's presentation is just one of the most famous statements that the magistrate from Palermo, in the sixties, when he was a university student of Law, near Tall-Fuan, who was assassinated on 19 luglio'92, made the National Day of the Youth Front in September 1990, held in Syracuse: "I could also die at any moment, but I will die peaceful thinking that young people will like you to defend the ideas they believe ... here, in that case I will not die in vain. " It is not reason that the photo of the group's presentation, taken right at the front of a national holiday in 1990 that took place that year in Syracuse, depict, from left to right, Paolo Borsellino, Giuseppe Tricoli, Gianni Alemanno and Fabio Granata.
not lacking in the photo of the group, the color and imagination. Of course, one might say, those were the times of the eighties some graphomania comics and more. Rats, mimeographed, posters in comics such as those invented by Sergio Caputo, Maurizio Umberto Croppi or Guercio. The Celtic cross, then, was played anywhere, any way: from the classic black and white circle on a red background, those improvised in Milan, black on yellow background, which, perhaps unconsciously, taking up the pattern of the earliest flags in the Celtic introduced in Italy in the sixties by the transnational movement Jeune Europe. And yet Celtic crosses the blue, to mark the European spirit, all those red, to create a bit of confusion situazionistica, and even pink and black because even the guys from the Front, attended the Sunday ... stages. Several mutations that Youth Front eighties borrowed from older siblings who had given birth to the beginning of the decade Campi Hobbit, starting the path that would have animated the New Right. At this stage of the youth movement MSI wrote the journalist Anna Terranova, a scholar of the period, on which he published the book glide over forests of outstretched arms (editions Seventh Seal), emphasizing the fact that the leaders of the Front gradually borrowed from New Tarchiani right "a requirement Method: Break the fences, out of the generational feud and build new synthesis. " To emphasize: "The experience of the New Right and the adventure of Marco Tarchi and young intellectuals who were deserting the ranks hagfishes have placed prominently on the table the issue of consent, the conquest of cultural hegemony in civil society as way to legitimize and lend credibility to the political presence. Behind the expression gramscismo right, which seemed so threatening to the guardians of orthodoxy as a museum, not concealed anything but that. The seed sown will give a dual result: the removal of every authoritarian wishful thinking and ambition to create a new method for attaching accessions.
How far was also made since then. The protagonists of these pictures have names that helped revive the Youth Front. In Rome, Gianni Alemanno, Andrea Augello, Paolo Colli, Fabio Rampelli and others, in Milan and Marco Frassinetti Paola Valle, in Sicily with Fabio Granata and Pietrangelo Buttafuoco. It will be the season of participation in the parade uniform of the students in Rome November 16, 1985, those 85 guys who came to news coverage of the time, as indeed is evidenced by excerpts of newspaper recovered from the Facebook group, the return of three thousand students' right "Valle Giulia at December 20, 1986, antinuclear demonstrations to make green, dialogue meeting in Rome of the Gathering of County with various radicals, green, Catholics, socialists and the left, lists 89 universities and 90's put together with CL and the Greens, the new themes like the "logic of tolerance" and adherence to the themes of ' etnopluralismo and the overcoming of Occidentalism.
Do not miss the memory of departed friends, in tragic circumstances as known, and Paolo Di Sergio Ramelli In all, then Recchioni Stefano, Francesco Cecchin and many other boys of the Seventy victims of the worst years of our history. Just as there are references to Misin leader, appreciated and / or sometimes boycotted, and Almirante Rauti. Similarly, it is clearly recall the time a young Gianfranco Fini: the photos make visible some cosmetic changes, the long blue coats and goggles to drop, very "vendittiani", to the clothes that have accompanied him during the years of increased visibility. It is not the only one to have new look: the images, in the end, certify the phasing-out of some by rebellious youth and began, as the Arab keffiyeh scarf, through loafers from Clarks paninari or companions, to arrive at casual sweaters. Not only for Europe, nation, revolution, then: after all this was also the Youth Front. Probably discuss this issue again in December on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the Front.
